The Designs will be judged by leaders in the fashion industry, from designers, to fashion editors, and heads of fashion design institutes during a fashion design showcase in Castle Towers Shopping Centre. There are two categories – Street Life and Night Life.
The heats and finals will be showcased and judged on the same day, Saturday April 12th 2008.
Entrants need to submit their designs to Cutting In (address above) by Friday Feb. 8th 2008. Entrants can enter as many times as they like in either or both categories by simply sending a sketch or photo of their garment. Photos and sketches will not be returned (unless you enclose a stamped-self addressed envelope). Entrants do NOT need to send in their finished garment at this stage. Please add an entry form to each garment. Finalists will be notified by mid-Feb and will then have two months to make up their garment.
In 2007 we received over 400 entries. The designs are of a very high standard. They are unique and it is always very difficult to choose only 20 finalists for each category. We believe this is a great opportunity for young designers to gain recognition for their work and valuable exposure to the fashion industry.
All entries must be designed and created by the young person only. Outside help is forbidden. You can enter as many times as you like in either or both categories.
